A Strange Feeling

“I’m half Bolivian and half Guatemalan. I am the daughter of immigrants. I am first generation “American.” It’s a strange feeling like a foreigner in a place you were born. It’s even stranger going to the lands of my ancestors and being a foreigner there. In the past few years, I have accepted this feeling and I celebrate it. I celebrate having my history exist outside the borders of the country I live in.”
